From Overwhelmed to Empowered: How Our Digital Marketing with AI Bootcamp Revolutionised One Entrepreneur's Business

At Tech Educators, we're incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication our students put into our bootcamps. Our goal is to empower individuals with the skills they need to succeed in the digital world, and Freddy Carrick's story is a perfect example of this. Freddy, a self-employed individual and the founder of Menopause Unzipped, recently completed our Digital Marketing with AI Skills Bootcamp. We sat down with her to discuss her experience and how she's now using AI to transform her business.

Before the Bootcamp

Freddy's business, Menopause Unzipped, is a health and wellness company that educates on menopause to men, women, and B2B clients. She has also published two books and offers digital courses.

Before joining the bootcamp, Freddy's primary marketing challenge was a "lack of clarity around which direction to take my business." Her approach to digital marketing was "random in the extreme." When she discovered our "Digital Marketing with AI" bootcamp, her main goal was simple: "To gain confidence in the use of AI and how to gain time and organisation with it."

Transforming Challenges into Opportunities

Freddy found the bootcamp a valuable, if intense, experience. She noted that it was "Almost too much to take in over 13 days" but praised the instructor as "excellent" and the content as "structured."

A key "aha!" moment for Freddy came when she realised the importance of being precise with AI. She learned that she "needed to be clear what I was asking AI before hitting 'send' otherwise I needed to ask again." Once she mastered this, she found that her "AI of choice understood me and my tone of voice, rhythm and choice of words" and could "create an answer which needed little tweaking by me."

Freddy's perception of what a solo entrepreneur can achieve has been completely transformed. She is now "astonished that I can ask AI to create so many pieces for my business, from a LinkedIn profile, to a PDF on five things a man needs to know about female menopause." She feels she can "do much more for my business without being concerned that it will generate income." She credits this to a new understanding of buyer personas and her ability to get her message right.

A Glimpse into the Future

Now that she has completed the bootcamp, Freddy is ready to put her new skills into action. She plans to use AI to "write my emails," create "freebies which I can use to build my email list," and "set out a marketing plan for a particular area of my business." The course also equipped her with new strategies, such as automated customer interaction and smarter ad targeting. She's already seen success with this, noting that she asked AI for advice on ad placement and it "gave me strong hooks and CTAs which have now proved to be effective."

Looking ahead, Freddy has already republished her two books and plans to "set up an ad campaign to increase sales." She also plans to launch a podcast as a "limited series, around how men can improve their understanding and responses to their female partners." In the next 6-12 months, she intends to "use AI in marketing much more, making it targeted and effective."

Her advice to anyone considering a bootcamp like ours is simple and enthusiastic: "DO IT."
